Kiehl's Mini Haul

Went to Kiehl's earlier for the first time (Trinoma) and I have to say the people working there are great! Not only were they approachable/ not picky with customers they also gave me ALOT of free samples! I mostly got samples for dry skin for my mum to try out (so I could drag her back there with me). Also for a minimum amount of 2,500php you get a membership card which means more freebies!

For reference: I have oily skin (I become shiny in an hour or less and living in a tropical country is not helping) which means large pores and acne-prone skin too!

I bought 2 things from their famous blue herbal line:

Blue Herbal Moisturizer - Php 1,700
Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser - Php 1,550

And also the Facial Fuel No-Shine Moisturizing Lip Balm - Php 575
I'll buy the toner when I finish my toner which is the Etude House Wonderpore, I have no complains about it so I still have to see why I have to switch to a toner that's more than twice the price of what I'm currently using.

They gave me two samples of each the ff:
Acne Blemish Control Daily Skin-Clearing Treatment
Ultra Facial Cream
Powerful Wrinkle Reducing Eye Cream
Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
I forgot to take a picture of the Clearly Corrective White Purifying Foaming Cleanser, Clearly Corrective White Clarity-Activating Toner and Actively Correcting & Beautifying BB cream but they also gave me two of these.

Back story: When I turned 19 things got a bit worse than usual, I became even more acne-prone. Normally I'd have pimples on my forehead and jawline but then now I'd see some red angry spots sprouting on my cheeks and nose not to mention when they do disappear they leave ugly brown spots all over my face. Uff. Stress and lack of sleep. So I've decided to give this a go. I'll review it in a week or two. Wish me luck!

Best of 2013!

Heyy, I wasn't able to make much in the latter part of the year since it was that time of the year for Long Exams and passing of requirements. *long siggggghhhhh* So instead of making reviews I decided to make the best of 2013! These are mostly products that I use everyday :)
Note: Photos belong to their respective owners - taken from google

In no particular order:

1.  Etude Proof 10 eye primer

This is by far the best primer I've used! I have extremely oily eyelids so every time I use eyeshadow it creases within the hour but with this under, my eyeshadow stays for the whole night, even when I'm about to take it off. The shadows are also more pigmented when I use it with this. I also use this everyday for my eyeliner (which would also make it in this list)

2.  TheBalm Balm Shelter tinted moisturizer
My everyday moisturizer, it has SPF 18 which is good but since I live in a tropical country I use this with sunblock. Coverage is light but if layered could be medium, it also does not cake on my face. Some say this is even better than Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer but I have yet to try that one. For less than 1000php 65 mL

3.Snoe Poudre extraordinaire
Love this! Love that it hides my pores. I can use this with or without foundation and I'd still achieve a polished look.

4. Etude House Drawing eyebrow pencil
Easy application, angled, good staying power. I used this when I was just starting out to fix my eyebrows and I still use it until now.

5. Nyx jumbo pen - Yogurt
What is a best's list without a nyx jumbo pen? I use this for my waterline and for the corner of my eyes. Keeps me looking awake the next day when I haven't slept through the night.

6. TheBalm Sexy Mama
This is a staple for me. I use this for touch ups whilst in school.

7. Clinique Chubby Sticks Intense
Another staple! Color pay off of a lipstick but as moisturizing as a lip balm. I already have this in Caramel, Chili and Grape and I'm planning to get more!

8. Yves Rocher Pore Clearing Mask
I use this as a spot treatment for when I have breakouts and for my case it usually takes 2 days for them to fully flatten and disappear.

9 - 10. Maybelline Rocketeer and the Falsies
Does not clump my eyelashes and when used with the Falsies it gives my lifeless sparse eyelashes the illusion of full lashes (after a few coats of course)

 11. The Body Shop Honey Bronzing Powder
Love that these are made from beeswax and marula oil and that these are very pigmented and matte. Staying power is average but I can't really find anything that stays on my extremely oily skin so I'm not complaining.

12. Yves Rocher Bath Gel - Jardins du Monde
I love this scent! Love the packaging and the size of it. Price is also reasonable in the Philippines. The scent also lasts me a few hours.

13. Maybelline Hyperglossy
By far the most pigmented and lasting eyeliner I've tried at its price point! Used up a whole bottle and I've used it everyday since July. Tip is very fine, precision is easily achieved.

14. TheBalm Betty Lou Manizer
Most people hate this or prefer the Mary Lou version but I love that this warms up my skin even more. I get that healthy skin look with this, for the people who can't work with this use a big fan brush for a sheer effect. The only complain about this is that it's easy to break. :(

15. Shiseido The Makeup Smoothing Foundation
Love the case! but more than that I love that it smooths out my bumps well. I have to stop myself from touching my face because it feels that smooth. Hides my flaws well.

16. Za 2-way cake foundation
The only foundation that captures my skin color PERFECTLY. I am a BO 10 here and let me tell you how hard it is to find a foundation that yellow. Staying power is above average.

17. Clinique Pressed Powder - Translucent
Packaging is beautiful. Powder is really fine and smooth I use this a lot and it does not look cakey even though I pile this up on my face.

Well these are all the products that I could remember when I have products to share again I'll probably collect them first.

Update Haul

Yeah I think most of the time I just post hauls but never get to do reviews. I swear I'd do them now.

So Claire's opened here in the Philippines! Yay! I know I'm a bit late in breaking the news but yay! I was just so happy when they opened here. Now its time to buy really cute things. Haha. My favorite from the bunch I got from there is the UK Flag accessories holder. If you take a closer look at it there are holes for the earings. I love it, and its in theme with my room plus I have access to my most used accessories! Also visited NYX there, bought their matte lippies, a lip liner, a matte not flat liquid foundie and a blush. I didn't get my hands on the jumbo eye pencils though. They were out of stock when I asked. Most likely they would restock this November. I was suppose to get them in Milk and Yogurt. The natural pallet was out of stock also. These were the main reasons why I even went to the store but then they hadnon of what I was looking for *sigh*

Read David Levithan's Lover's Dictionary and started the Happiness Project (which is also part 1 of my gift for my bestfriend, hopefully she won't read this blog post soon) both would be reviewed in a different post. Then I got the Body Shop  Cream foundie in the shade Natural Vanilla cause they were on sale! From 1,600php I got them for 1,100php but I was also a LYB member so I got an extra 120php off! Yay savings! I also got an Olive Body Butter tub which is free if you reach 2,500php and up (apparently I still bought a lot but still I got 4 items for the price of 2) lastly I got a Charm angled eyebrow brush, loved the fact that it was black and metalic pink and also the quality of the brush. Love the precision it gives me!

Sorry for being all over the place but I'd rather give substance to these haul posts instead of me putting them aside then eventually forgetting about them.

Review: China Glaze No-Chip Top Coat

So I thought I'd make a short review for the China Glaze Top Coat. Well, it costs around 450php so for a nail polish I hoped it would deliver. I've tried it on top of my mani and it only lasted about 2 days without chipping. To be quite honest, I don't think it makes a big difference with the lasting power of my mani for the price. Maybe its because I wash my hands a lot and I scrub my hair really well when I bathe? I don't know why it won't stay on too long. But my feet are a different story. On my feet, it actually stayed for around 2 weeks and I wear closed shoes all the time but still it did not chip off. I'm happy about it, so I will keep purchasing this when I finish the bottle but I probably won't use it for my hands cause I don't see a major difference in the staying power for it.
